Forty years later, signs of the Anomaly's long-feared reemergence began to appear, forcing the once hostile countries of Angevaine and Navasturia to form an uneasy alliance and jointly develop a last-ditch effort against extinction: Project Hypérion,

Spearheaded by three founders—the visionary architect Fréderic Augustin, his sister Annette, and her husband Dante—Hypérion's was a marvel of architecture and engineering made possible by the discovery of æther and dvent of æther-engineering technology to harness it.
